look mom i can sew!

I'm just so proud of my 1904 skirt so far that I had to share pictures!!!

So here is the skirt so far, it's done except for two bands of velvet trim, which aren't necessary to wear it functionally so they may or may not happen.

I'm seriously in LOVE with my train! and I'm so glad I chose to put horse hair in the hem it really helps it hang more nicely. I'm still wishing I had a trained petticoat, but the time just isn't there for that. Polly is just wearing a butt pad and no petticoat at the moment, it hangs a little more fully with the petticoat

Overall I'm just really pleased with it! Finally something has come together just the way I wanted it to. I frenched all my seams and put a real placket in it and everything. I'm just so proud of it! For once!

Very nice! I love the bit of flair about the hem. It's just asking for a pigeon front blouse!
