Wedding dress
There has been much hemming and hawing about my wedding dress. Should I buy one, Should I make one. They're soooo expensive, but perhaps worth it given the angst it would cause me in the end?
During my third fitting related meltdown before Belvidere Rob very sweetly pulled me aside. Looked me straight in the face and said "Dear, think about this feeling...PLEASE don't make your wedding dress" (Okay he never says Dear but I"m trying to make the moment seem sweeter than his just pointing out that I'm an idiot)...and that sealed it. I wasn't willing to ruin the fun of a wedding by making a wedding dress. I was going to suck it up, say "WOW I am incredibly blessed to have a family that can afford to buy me a lovely dress" and just go get one!
We went shopping in the beginning in MA where my sister lives. Not intending to buy there, just because I was there, Molly was there, and Mom was there. Well it turns out that Shirley from Bridal Heirlooms is hands down the NICEST most wonderful bridal lady in the world. While the one who carries the designer I like in PA told me I was too fat for the samples and was wasting her time. So off we went to MA to buy a dress. I fit almost perfectly in the sample so really limited alterations will be needed and Molly will bring it down with her.
So if you want to see it. Here's the link. If you want it to be a surpise. Don't open it :-) There are also some potential bridesmaid dresses in there. We pretty much all agreed the green was our favorite. Possibly in the purple color, possibly in the green. It was way shiny in the photo due to crappy point and shoot flash. Please try to ignore the really stupid expression on my face.
