is it a jacket that can later be converted to wear over a stomacher? that will help a great deal in the growth spurt stage of life. This past weekend I saw a dress a lady converted by just folding the front edges back and quickly stitching on robings and worn over a stomacher. I am sure women in period would have done the same.
