Well here I am. done with all my classes for my freshman year of college, I worked my last shift at the dining hall, I spent the afternoon with my friends upon the quad getting a sun burn and pretending to study. I took a couple seconds while avoiding starting my paper to think about how far I've come, the things I've gotten and the things I've lost. What I've left behind and what I've achieved. I've come along way. I've survived a year away from home, a year with no one making sure I wasn't up to late, making sure I was safe. I've been to the hopstial a few too many times, gone on adventrues, and looking forward to more. I've lost the responsiblity of keeping a locker clean, and gained keeping my room clean. I've lost having a mom's shoulder that will always listen to me cry, and learned how to comfort myself and not need that person there, even though I still want them there a lot some nights. I've learned it's okay too cut people who aren't good for you out of your life. I've learned there are people i NEVER want to let go of. I've learned I love theater but i'm not "theater people" and that no matter how upset I am Molly always makes me feel better. I've learned meeting with a teacher about a paper is very helpful, and somedays you just can't make yourself write no matter how hard you try. I've learned if people dont' want to get to know the real me then it's their loss because I'm worth getting to know. I've learned to fully appricate naps. I've learned the joys of goign to class with no make up on. I've learned that people may not be in your life for more than a moment and leave a very lasting impression.
