Feeling a bit overwhelmed by Dress U things so I'm going to try to work out what all I still have to do.

Friday: Just pack stuff everything is as done as it's going to be

Saturday: Hem regency dress hem and sleeves ETA: Just went and did that so at least I can cross off one thing!
Titanic Dress - Sew on rest of hooks and thread bars

Sunday- Day dress done (find apron! hides nice gap from being tubby)
Evening bodice - sew down sleeve facings, sew on buttons, boning
              Evening overskirt?

I'm really almost done with the bodice. I need to hand whip down the sleeve bindings, sew on the buttons and put in some boning. Really not a bad list. I'm going to take the hand-sewing tomorrow for when C-man is taking his nap.

But I've started to worry that the over-skirt I have is so plain that it's going to look stupid. It's really really simple.

So I have two thoughts.  1. Add more cream silk trim around it. It was supposed to have it orginally and I just ran out of time.

2. Make a totally NEW over-skirt out of this black net I have.

Pros of the net: it's preeeetty
Cons: more work than just adding trim, and I have cream buttons and want to wear cream opera gloves.

I would go with the cream trimmings or leave it as is. I think the simplicity is elegant. And it saves time :)

yeah after talking to Kat too I think I've come to my senses. I shall add a ruffle to the hem and more trim if I have time, first I'll go back and finish everything else first.

Stop the madness! You don't need a new overskirt, the other will look just lovely. I like the net and maybe for the next event you can make it up but really it's a want not a need and you are at need level here. Add more trim to the existing overskirt if you have time but really I think you will look very pretty without even that.

Deep breaths... done what needs to be done then enjoy yourself. This event is about having fun not being locked away in your hotel room sewing!!

I don't think the existing overskirt is too simple at all! My first impression upon looking at that picture was that it looks so clean-lined and elegant. I would leave it as is!

Step away from the net! The cream is lovely as is and you don't need more stress so close to an event.
