I'm going to knit at least one row on any project a day.

I find knitting to be very meditative and I think that will really help me.

I currently have like 20" of straight knitting left on one project and 13 rows left on the first panel of the pinball.

Today I worked on the straight knitting project that's supposed to be a gift but I'm fairly certain I don't have enough yarn so I'll end up frogging it. I have two skeins and I need 32" of knitting so if I can't get skein 1 to reach 16" then I'm SOL, I suspect that won't happen but I'm far enough into it I might as well solder on. Plus it's worsted so it goes fairly fast.

It's been a fun weekend around here. I worked at the office job on Saturday morning then dragged Rob to the Habitat for Humanity Restore just to get out of the house and browse. Well they were having a 75% off all green tags sale (for the Eagles apparently) and I found two cute vintage hats for a steal! I didn't NEED them but...hard to pass up for under $2 a piece. Then on the way home we were about to pass my local tea house and HOLD ON A MIN IS THAT AN ANTIQUE MALL I'VE NEVER NOTICE *screeching change of lanes* Rob was a very good sport and wandered around with me looking at oddities. I ended up buying a pair of white leather gloves and another ADORABLE hat. This one was a few more dollars but it reached the level of NEED IT. So maybe I'll try and sell on the other two to happier homes to justify my hat purchase.

Hat #1: A lovely navy velvet number with some kind of spazzy feathers I thought were derptastic.

Hat #2: is a hilarious pink straw with a GIANT flower. It looks fairly stupid on a head but when I put it on with hair it actually filled out and was kind of charming.

and Hat #3 that I just HAD TO HAVE:

Then today I packed up the rest of Christmas. I had taken it down and piled it on the table but still needed to really repack into the tubs I bought. It over-summered down in the basement in cardboard and a lot of things got moldy and I had to throw out a bunch so not going back there this year. Then I settled in and had a delightful time knitting on a sontag I started for [personal profile] ktlovely

Good models are hard to come by.

I also snuck in a few rows on my pinball! I'm enjoying having a big easy, needs no thought project to alternate with the tiny needs-my-full-attention project.

And I shall leave you with a picture of Rob and I modeling what I have called the poop hat but sadly that did not come home with me.

Well work is definitely getting easier. I walk out of a 12 hour day with a few brain cells left to rub together. I've been on my own twice now which is great. On Sunday I did have a kid try and die on me which I did NOT appreciate. Yo kid, keep with the breathing please! but otherwise been going smoothly...everyone is nice...but still in a kind of distant way. Don't feel like I've made any really friends yet. For example I've come every day since Christmas with a rubber chicken purse...and no one has commented? I feel like that's noteworthy...

Rob's really struggling with withdrawl symptoms from his cymbalta. Apparently that's a stand alone diagnosis it has such a bad rap. Days of just crying uncontrollably or feelings of rage and suicidal ideation. *sigh* it's been a rocky ride. But Friday he starts his new meds and hopefully we're headed upwards from there. Today does seem better than yesterday. And he worked Thursday, Friday, Sunday, Tuesday and again this Saturday. Not huge jobs but just getting him OUT and into contact with his world is a step forward.

I ended up with two days off in a row because one of the doctors at my other job had eye surgery and it didn't go well so he didn't come back on Monday as expected so woohoo day off for me...but I didn't get a lot done. I did some minor picking up and a lot of puttering and knit on this pinball. But I'm having a hard time not feeling like I'm walking underwater. I know a lot of it is internalizing Rob.

So here have a pinball progress photo. I'm officially 25% complete with the first side. I'm hoping to have it complete for the Georgian Picnic some of us have decided to have in May...btw if anyone wants to come to a Georgian Picnic and I didn't invite on FB just lemme know I would love to add you.

No sewing lately, I'm frantically knitting away on Jenny-Rose's pineapple reticule to finish and get it in the mail in time to get to her for CosCol. I've reached the point of forcing myself where I think it looks abjectly dreadful and I hate it...I'm not making another pineapple for at least a few year. I need a break from them. Also I'm springing for silk.

So here's my question for people who are smart. why does instagram have an embed code function if when I do it there's never an image there? It would make it so much easier to put pictures here.

Anyway I think I did too many points, i dislike long skinnypineapples. I want them fat and round :-p

Started my 3rd pineapple reticule today for [personal profile] jennylafleur that I owe her from doing my hair at Christmas. I am following the pattern I used for my first pineapple and MUCH preferred, but with the same thread and number of repeats as [personal profile] mandie_rw 's. But this time I went from the size 0 needles from Amanda's and used 000s. I'm really curious to see how it effects the over all size...

So yeah prepare for lots of pictures of slowly progressing pineapple knitting.

as I was stuck on the couch I actually did a blog entry about the two pineapple reticules I've made so far....next up is the damn plaid ballgown from new castle. I'm so behind on blogging. and I swore I was gonna do better about it...WHOOPS.

After [livejournal.com profile] koshka_the_cat talked me off a ledge, and the pineapple sat in the naughty pile a suitably long time I picked up the pineapple and tried again. Thank you for all of the constructive suggestions!!! I really appreciate them.

This time I downgraded the # of stitches I cast on to 260 and only beaded every other stitch (Per [livejournal.com profile] koshka_the_cat's recommendation).  She had the smarts to look at the original I was copying, and oh look it's only beaded every other *headdesk* someday I'll learn. I also switched the beads from the short tail end to the ball end. I had read online that the beads went on the short one which patently did not work for me.

So take two. I got it all cast on, I even managed to knit four rows and see the pattern develop! I was so pleased....until I realised that it was twisted somehow when I connected the circle. Despite futzing with it for 30 min trying to make sure it wasn't. I seem to have this issue a lot when knitting in the round. So that was frogged.
[livejournal.com profile] mandie_rw told me I'm going to be very good at starting pineapples. "It's like a game that keeps sending you back to level 1" *sigh*

And I even did a blog post about it

The butt afghan is halfway done! I have to say it went a lot faster than I thought it would.

(pinned on the dress form)

I only did 4 stripes of five rows instead of six and 16 rows of ribbing instead of 24 as it seemed wide enough and long enough.

Vacation is rapidly coming to a close. In fact I spent last night doing homework due on Wednesday and tomorrow I have to be at work stupidly early.

But I used my time watching hw videos to keep mindlessly knitting on my petticoat. I've reached the point where it's all simple knitting and purling so no brain power is required.

Tonight I finished the first skein of orange, I grabbed a second from the basket and discovered there are in fact 7 more...Orange things for everyone!

I'm kind of riding a wave of knitting...and if it makes me happy I'm on vacation so why not right? I was debating wether to start [livejournal.com profile] hiraimi's sontag or my knitted petticoat next...but I cannot for the life of me find the long 7s I used for my and [livejournal.com profile] mandie_rw's sontags...Knitted petticoat it is! I of course assume once I stop looking for the needles they'll be all "WAIT WE WANT TO BE USED! HERE WE ARE!" and stop hiding. Plus I also assume I'll get bored with a giant knitted skirt and wander away before I finish...

So now I have a hot cup of English Breakfast Tea, a pile of orange worsted (Thank you again [livejournal.com profile] mandie_rw!) and a brain that may nor may not be able to figure this out...Here goes!

But I actually updated my blog

I finally put my finger on why I don't seem to do post-event-recaps, or pictures of things, or update my blog anymore. I just too strongly dislike how I look and feel. It's hard to look at a photo and not see "me" but some weird person that looks like an over-inflated-me. Need to get back on the fitness bandwagon. Big time.
