halfway there

The butt afghan is halfway done! I have to say it went a lot faster than I thought it would.

I only did 4 stripes of five rows instead of six and 16 rows of ribbing instead of 24 as it seemed wide enough and long enough.

Very cute! Somehow I had it in my head that you were knitting this in the round, so I was confused when you said it was half done. I was like, "wait, how long is it going to be?!" I get it now! The edging is very pretty.

Good going! It makes sense that you'd be able to cut out a few rows since you're using worsted weight yarn instead of sport or fingering weight. You're starting to make me think knitting a petticoat wouldn't be so bad.

Yes, I would think that 70" would be sufficient width for something like this. You're still making me want to go look at the late century petticoat patterns I've seen.

that's going to be it's finished length. now I'm making the second panel. It's a few inches below knee level. It goes under the hoop to keep your bits toasty :-D
