Finally Drying out
May. 19th, 2006 12:23 pmSo Lowell is finally starting to dry out. The Merrimack river has give back most of the shore behind my apt and the "Floods of 2006" are beginning to abate. It was pretty awe inspiring actually. The scene shop in Lawrence (just north of lowell) was chest deep in water and sewage. But the damage is not as bad as we had originally feared. But a good chunk of the power tools are probably lost forever.
However it's still raining. It was dry yesturday and SUNNY something we hadn't seen for a good week. But today is raining...just when I need to start loading up my car. oh joy.
Amy left last night. Emily did too. Put Melanie on a plane yesturday afternoon. And Saturday morning I'm heading out. The season is really coming to a close. But it's been a good one overall. Had it's unpleasant moments, but on the whole I emerge better for it. With some friends that I will really miss.
