Belvidere Musings
Sep. 5th, 2010 10:00 pmSo I'm starting to plan for Belvidere this year. Which I must say majorly snuck up on me, and I'm feeling really exaughsted from work and not up to really making something new. SO I'm thinking about a reboot of sorts from last years outfit. Lets review shall we?
Here's a little sideby side of the original inspiration and how it turned out...

Well there were some wins and some issues with this outfit. or in corporate speak "opportunities" First of all this picture is at the end of the day and my bustle seriously deflated. I need to fix a few issues with it. My draping on the front wasn't perfect but was okay, the sleeves weren't quite long enough. And I made whoopsie when cutting the bodice, I used the same bodice pattern I developed for Kat's Garden Party 09 and just blindly cut on the same neck line *facepalm* crud. I had intended to put on a velvet collar and cuffs and just ran out of time. And my button holes look like SHITE.
SO I'm debating trying to add a collar and cuffs to this bodice, add boning and call it fabulous OR making a new bodice. I have the fabric and I think a slightly heavier interlining would make a world of fitting difference. I'd like to lengthen the sleeves and put on the actual high neckline. Perhaps I'd make a little dickie with an ascot?
Or is it just not worth the effort? All I see are the fit issues and I'm not sure if starting over would just be easier or not.
