oops

Okay so I didn't update OR sew at all yesterday. BUT I did do all my homework due on Monday so I have the whole weekend to do two things. 1. Clean this apt! 2. SEW This francaise! 

To make up for the lack of sewing updating I'll regale you with a funny dream I had last night (don't you HATE when people insist on telling you their dreams?)

I dreamt I was at isabelladangelo's wedding only I was sitting at a table with a whole bunch of people who went to my High School who I kind of made a point to no longer talk to. AND three of my ex boyfriends who I haven't seen since we broke up! Rob wasn't there but after the wedding when it appeared isabelladangelo was about to clean up was about to clean everything up in her big beautiful wedding gown I made Rob do all the dishes with me and I proudly told him how I haven't said a word to my exs all night! Now that seems a tad rude by daylight....either way isabelladangelomakes a beautiful bride!! ;-) 

Do my robings look right to you?

I cut a long strip 10" off of the front edge. And folded down the robings...I think I've got it! and that makes think I'm doing something wrong...this was easy...and aren't these dresses NOT supposed to be easy? I know I know I haven't touched the evil sleeves, or any of the trim etc etc but so far...rather smooth sailing..so what am I doing wrong? I know damn well nothing I make ever goes this easily...

I think my plan is going to be to get both sides to this point and then try it all on before I sew the dart or the side seams so I can tweak it to myself. Plus if I leave the lining whole and uncut for a last fitting I won't have to fuss with a stomacher stand in for the fitting. I think I'm most worried that I don't have the waist in the exact right point, but I went off of where I marked the waist on my lining which does NOT correspond at all to where Polly's waist hits...which only makes me more nervous.
