I just finished the hem! It's a very nice hem if I do say so myself. I rather like hand sewing simple things like hems. And one perk of 1910s is that the hems are a lot smaller than a giant 1860s gown.

What's left:
Sew down the neck facing
hem sleeves
hem skirt
sew skirt to bodice
add linen to sleeves
add lace to sleeves and neck.
pick fabric for sash and make said sash
oh yeah hooks and eyes so it closes!
sew ribbon around neckline

I can do this! yes I can! Most of these are very easy. Especially as I've decided to hem the sleeve by machine, I don't feel like trying to get through layers of lace and linen by hand. much simpler to just machine top-stitch, plus you'll never see it through the lace. Now if I can just avoid the lure of a Saturday afternoon nap...

Idiot!

When I was at JoAnn's this morning buying ribbon I stopped by the notions wall and said "do I need hooks and eyes?...no no I don't I have tons"...well apparently I HAD tons. I inherited a stack of cards of them from my great-grandmother's sewing kit and I've just been working my way through them for years. I don't think I've ever actually bought any...well today I appear to have finished them off. 15 min after JoAnn's closed for the night. ARGH. I'm SO CLOSE to being done!! It's kind of frustrating to not just finish
