seriously bad at having a journal. I blame depression. I find it hard to do much but work, sleep, eat...the completely unmoved state of my apt reflects it. I can get myself together at work so that's a plus.
Lets see what's happened recently. Rob's brother got married in Miami a week ago saturday so we did Miami and then Orlando for 2 days. I found places I didn't know I could sweat from but had a great time. His parents came up to PA for a week afterwards and stayed with us a few days. saw the house.
Then we got a call on Sunday at 6pm that Rob's Uncle and God father was in the ED in DE (where he lives) having been found babbling nonsense and having been fecally incontinent all over the bathroom. Turned out he had a duadnal (upper small intestin) ulcer rupture and he hemorrhaged into his abdominal cavity full on liver failure, kidney failure (due to ischemia) and septic shock. We flew down to DE with his parents and brother and my new SIL. We got there around 8, by 10 he was sort of stablized in the ICU with four pressers maintaining blood flow to his brain and heart at the expense of his extremities. They gave him till 11 to have his blood pressure stablize and start clotting so they could operate to fix the tear or they were going to determine his care was futile and start turning off machines. He did end up having surgery around 2am, was out by 6am and by 8am was stable enough for us to all talk to him. At that point I had slept for an hour twice in the car between updates and an hour in a chair in the waiting room. That said apparently I was the only one who could possibly drive home as Rob and his parents were too tired *eyeroll* so we dove two hours home. At a quick lunch and I left them to nap and I went to work.
Today I slept. and now I'm sitting here feeling guilty that the only productive thing I did today was take the dog to the vet (routine shots).
