why do I sew again?

so I started this outfit months ago....and I leave tomorrow with an unfinished outfit *headdesk* I have the derpiest sleeves ever, a velvet dirndl petticoat because I cant get the quilted fabric pleated only to the hips, and no plan for my hair....hot mess. Remind me again why I do this? was it supposed to be fun?

I just did the worst hack job of my career on my matelasse jacket sleeves - and they still look lousy, and feel wrong. I don't get it. It's just the way it's going to be.
