Just tried to do a practice run of my hair for Reading on Sunday...it did turn out like a nice set of victory rolls...but FRIZZY. I swear my textury frizzy hair just does NOT want to roll into smooth pretty vintage styles. Excuse me I'll be over here being cranky.

I've seen a LOT of frizzy hair in candid photos. Actually, I'd say that the majority of candid photos show frizzy hair. You mostly see smooth hair on movie stars and in formal studio portraits. And textured hair like that is far easier to arrange into voluminous 40s styles than straight, smooth hair.

See! Victory rolls blow. Who likes early 40s, anyway...

Frizzy hair, I feel ya.

But like nuranar said, frizzy can be easier to arrange!

Not that it's any help, but I'm sure they had frizzy hair in period too.
