Burnt

I feel burnt out. It's my one day off before the picnic and I NEED to be making serious headway but instead I'm totally stuck. I STILL don't have sleeves, I don't have a finished bodice, I don't have a skirt of any form, and I don't have any kind of headwear.  The stress from work has just zapped my creative juices. The apt is a superfund site, Rob's not here, and I just wanna cry. I so deseperately wanted a nice fun bustle dress to wear to this event! I don't want to wear my pintuck blouse cause it's hot and I wore it last time, My regency from halloween is really poorly constructed and I'm so capable of doing this it is making me angry that I just can't seem to do it! I'm better than this!!!!

*sigh* maybe if I curl up in a ball for an hour it'll make itself

Oh, Sweetie!! Looks like a bunch of us are in the same boat. I'm not done and today was my last "sewing" day before my houseguests arrive from North Carolina. I have to start cleaning this apartment tomorrow or they won't want to stay here. My bodice is constructed but has no trim. I have my skirt flatlined and partially constructed, but that's it. I have no new hat and will have to wear last year's.

It'll be ok!! Somehow it'll work out. You are welcome to my closet of bustle gowns if you like if you don't mind an amateur's work. I also have a lot of little hats (even an extant silk bonnet). Just get here by noon at the latest to pick something out (and bring your petti and bustle cage/pillow and accessories).

Thanks I really appreciate the offer but you're just a wee bit smaller than me, there's no way my big ribs would fit in your beautiful gowns. But I've got most of the dress wearable, just don't look at how straight my flounces are sewn on, or search for the saftey pins in my bustle drape ;-) Hope yours is coming together too and you're not pulling the late night I'm about to.

I'm glad you got so much done!

I didn't get the pleated box ruffle trim on, but the skirt has a waistband and a hem and that's good enough for me! LOL! I'm about to stick a dust ruffle (with no ruffles) on the train to make it more substantial. See you tomorrow!!

Oh, and safety pins? OH YEAH. Totally used 'em.
