It's ALL Kat's fault!
Feb. 17th, 2012 05:48 pmYou see she posted a link to an article on FB about the BBC Pride and Prejudice, so of course I had to go watch it, and now I have regency on the brain!! Which means I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally want to go to the next Fabulocity Club meet up at the regency tea like woah.
Now there are several majorly valid reasons why I should not travel to fancy event.
1. I have school! And I'm not sure what my exam schedule will be then, I have several coming up.
2. Money's as tight as a nun's knees
3. I only have one regency dress...and...it's got issues...
See I made said dress for Halloween in 2008. I used the Simplicity version of the Sense and Sensibility pattern..but apparently had a stroke when I cut it out, somehow the front fit fine but the back was like 3" too small. I put in a crappy modesty panel and called it good-enough for Halloween...but I'm not sure I could wear that around the fabulosity club and not feel like a fraud.
I pulled it out today (what the hell am I doing?!?) because I was wondering if it would even remotely fit me at the moment (I haven't shaken those 15lbs of unemployment pity weight..apparently I'm still pitiful) and started pondering ways to make it larger...I could replace the back pieces, I DO have more fabric, but at that point it might be easier to make a whole new dress I mean there's not much too regency dresses. OR I could make a spencer, I've always wanted a spencer! (BAD ROBIN you are NOT allowed to sew stuff! You're supposed to give all your energy to school!) I made this Capote when I made the dress that I LOOOVED at the time, I wonder if it's as cute as I remember..perhaps when Rob wakes up I'll try the dress on and see HOW badly it fits..
someone PLEASE wave something else shiny in my face so I stop all this regency nonsense?
oh yeah and I just remembered I never finished my regency stays so I just wore a bra and a girdle last time..somehow that doesn't seem ideal...
