Hmm so a lot has happened since I blogged last...

Lets see, I went up to upstate NY 2, Vermont 1, saw almost the entirety of my family , oh yeah and got married. I'll post a quicky write up of that some other time when the pictures come back, but in the meantime I've moved back to costume things. What can I say, I'm looking to return to that which creatively fulfills me :-)

So my next event this year is Belvidere, If and it's a big if, I can reclaim my sewing room from wedding central, I'd like to make something new. The problem is I have zero idea what. I feel all over the place and kind of lost. I know it's a combination of not being able to see my floor and the post-wedding crash but I just feel lost!

Someone just tell me what to make...

what's the year? What's in your stash? What would challenge you?

hmm well there isn't really a hard and fast year, we usually all go in some variety of bustle era. Digging through the stash might be a good place to start, nothing really comes to mind instantly. I figured jomar run was in my future.

I'd like to challenge you to use 50% materials from your stash, but I don't know you well enough to do that...I know that right now, I might be hard pressed to accomplish such a task, but others in my friendship could do 100% stash and not even dent theirs.

So, I'd say it's a good place to start, then go to Jomar with an open mind and see what asks you to take it home.

You work at a pattern company, pick out one that looks interesting or that you haven't tried before and give it a go. And Yay Jomar!

hee hee hee I just found this pretty mourning dress and said to Rob "Hey perhaps we should go to Belvidere in Mourning this year" and he goes "why?" and I said, "mourning our freedom of course" ;-)

why thank you :-) it was actually a lot of fun once I got to the enjoying it part. But as with any big event there's the inevitable post-event-blues.

I found that what I missed most after the wedding was having an excuse to buy Bridal magazines and oogle the pretty dresses. =0

I compensated for my wedding gown withdrawl by dragging the hubby to the Wedding Dress exhibit at the Costume Museum in Bath when we were on our honeymoon. He complained that he thought I'd had enough wedding dresses. Hee!
