Hello Robin,
You do not know me. I tripped over your blog while googling belvidere days in NJ. I do not blog myself, I hope you don't mind the comment.
I have 2 friends that are very active in our community. One woman is very active in her church, choir director, youth group leader, women's group leader, she also is very active with her children, PTA, soccer mom and such. The other woman is active with the local government, the food bank, the historical society, the library, and more. If you ask anyone in our community 'what do you know about these women?' not one would mention their job. The first woman is a school bus driver and the second cleans office buildings. They live the lives they want and their jobs give them the money to keep a roof over their head, clothes on their back, and food on the table.
I guess my point is that you do not need to let your 'job' define who you are, let 'you' define who you are and what you want to do with your life.
You seem to be caught up in this 'I need a career'. Everyone is quoting Steve Jobs these days so I guess I will too. Do what you love, the money will come. (from somewhere) OK that part is my quote.
I hope this helps.
Martha
