I'm not making a regency dress..

I'm not making a regency dress..

I'm no ---oh hell

I used the Simplicity Sense and Sensibility pattern. It went together SUPER easy less than 4 hours start to finish. I do think the neckline is hella high, but otherwise I like it well enough.

Any thoughts on trim? leave it plain? trash it all and start over?

Yay! :-) You might want to add some simple blue trim to the cuffs or something like that but I think it looks fine as is.

Yay! So simple and fun, love it! I have used the Simplicity S&S pattern too, and the necklines are too high: I plan to recut and finish those necklines at some point, but both have trim on them, so it will be some work to redo: and I've worn them that way before and they still look great...I'm SO glad you did NOT make a Regency! ;)

Yay, so now that you did not make a dress, you can not go to the tea! :)

I very much like the Regency dress you didn't make! And hey, high necklines are perfectly appropriate for day dresses...a collar and maybe cuffs would add a little something. I know you have that endless bin of lace...that's probably what I'd go for. :D

I love it! Maybe a chemisette or frilly collar?

You are so funny! I'm not a huge fan of the S&S high necklines, even though they are arguably historic; it's just one of those things with Jennie's patterns. I think your dress turned out really lovely - I can't wait to see you in it!

That's the great thing about regency dresses - even if you are not making them, they are done in no time. As for trim, I would say it depends where you are going to wear it. If you know that it will be worn to all different kinds of events, then I would go with isabellaangelo's suggestion of the blue trim, just for an extra little "pop"
