*deep breaths*
Feb. 21st, 2012 08:17 amI've got an appointment to get scraped at 9. I know it's not a big deal, a routine PAP is duh routine...but EVERY FLAPJACK TIME I end up in a mini-panic attack that they're going to tell me there's something horribly abnormal about my lady bits. Not to mention there's really only one person who's on a first name basis with my whoo-ha and that ain't the gyno. Excuse me now as I go do something horribly uncomfortable and try not to have a panic attack while doing it.
EDIT: I MADE IT THROUGH the whole thing...and then the doctor accidentally knocked it into the sink and they didn't have another of something and so long story short I have an appointment for ANOTHER PAP next tuesday *facepalm* Karma is getting back at me for not having had one since 2008.

Date: 2012-02-21 10:36 pm (UTC)It doesn't help that every time I undergo one of these routine procedures it takes about three weeks for the flashbacks and nightmares to stop. But hey, it's routine, right? [insert wry grin here]

My one experience with a male GYN was horrible. I think you just really have to have girl parts to understand what annual exams feel like and do them properly so they're not more uncomfortable than they need to be.
