Two Fabulocity Club Events
Sep. 30th, 2012 09:01 amI suddenly wrote a wall of text.
Coming up a week from today. Victorian Tea with Beth. There is a small (at the moment) contingent going to Rockwood Park to take the historic house tour and have a little treat. Please bring a something to share. Tickets are $10.00 and they're meeting at noon. Sadly I'mstuck helping Rob working on a movie.
TITANIC EXHIBIT! (I am capslock excited) Tickets for the evening event are $23.25 per person. It may be possible to get a group rate if 15 or more people attend at a cost of $21.50. To find out if we have the minimum people RSVPs are required by December 1st. There is a FB group that's been created and if you're on FB just send me a message and I'll be MORE than happy to add you to the group. OR if you're NOT on FB and want to go just drop me a message and I'll add you to the head count.
A little about the exhibit:
Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition sails into The Franklin Institute this November showcasing more than 300 legendary artifacts conserved from the ship's debris field, offering visitors a poignant look at this iconic ship and its passengers. The 15,000 square foot exhibition takes visitors on a chronological journey through the life of Titanic, from the building of the legend to life on board. The Exhibition has been designed with a focus on the compelling human stories as best told through authentic artifacts and extensive room re-creations. From china etched with the logo of the elite White Star Line, to perfume from a maker who was traveling to New York to sell his samples, the many authentic objects offer haunting and emotional connections to lives abruptly ended or forever altered.
And now a note on Fabulocity Club itself: The idea sprang from the wonderful time we had at the Francaise dinner. It's NOT meant to be an exclusive club it's just meant to not be throwing huge public functions. It's just the group of us that often go to event together. Having a tiny tiny bit of structure allows us to plan and organize more larger events like the Francaise dinner, or getting group rates like the titanic exhibit. So there has been a FB group created and anyone on FB can be added. It's not a public group only because we're not trying to throw public events if that makes sense. I want to stress that it's not a cliquey-you're-not-in kind of thing. It's just a way to keep Joe-schmoe out of a party I throw in my backyard. That said I know lots of awesome people are not ON fb. So I'll re-post any events we talk about over here, but I'm also thinking about creating a LJ community for that express purpose. That way there's a central location on this side of the internet. Thoughts?
