I've been working on the shawl pretty consistently and I'm nearing the end of my second skein. I have a question for those of you who said you've made it before.

Could you possibly measure your Center Back from the top edge till the first stripe beings? I don't have a good idea on how big it should be before I start the stripes, the pattern just says to make it as big as you want..but I have no idea how big that is!

Measuring down the center, mine is 36" to the start of the stripes, and the fifty rows of the stripes bring it to about 44.5". I was aiming for a 60" length along the sides, since I understand that to be a common woven shawl size, but I ended up overshooting and hitting about 70".

Holy shamoly that's a huge shawl! I found a specialty yarn store near my house yesterday, and now I'm wanting one too...
