chug chug

So I'm chugging along and trying to forgive myself the little things. And I realized that I'll be off my normal weekend this coming weekend and then Monday is memorial day..and my other normal day off is tuesday..HELLO FOUR DAY WEEKEND.

I'm setting simple goals for myself:
1. Weed the flower bed and side bed.
2. weed wack the veggie garden.
3. paint the dining room.
4. make a corded petticoat.

I dunno if I can do them all but that's like one thing a day.  In the mean time here's come pictures of my life lately:


Ellie at the vet waiting for her latest round of shots. She's officially 28 lbs over twice what she was when we got her. My baby is growing up so fast!!


There are irises in my garden and they're blooming! Frankly I don't really like the color as they scream old lady but it was still a fun surprise to walk out the door and see. You can see all the poppies behind that are past and I need to deadhead. hence the working in the garden.

Aww, fluffy puppy!

I adore irises. They're such delicate flowers. But then again the ones in our garden came from my grandmother as a gift to my mother, so they had family history to them. Sadly mom didn't take them with her when she moved. Hopefully the new owners of my childhood home are enjoying their beautiful deep purple color as much as I did.

Also, they always make me think of fleur de lis and French royalty and all that stuff.

oh don't get me wrong I really like Irises in general, my mom has beautiful yellow ones at her house. I just think these particular ones look the color of dishwater.

Don't forget to sneak a nap or two in. A 4-day weekend is the best with naps.

GIANT POOPY IS GIANT AIEEEE! She so fluffy!

I love irises! Alright maybe those aren't the most thrilling color, but they still smell nice, right? My gardening Pop-pop had a whole bed of irises, mostly bright purple, and really gorgeous ones with golden-yellow tops and deep velvet purple skirts. So, I have a sentimental attachment to irises. xD

I do really like irises these are just dishwater colored :-p I'm going to have to put in some of the sweet small dark purple ones I think.
