Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your DW. The post should contain your list of 10(or more) holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your DW, or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list.

And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out; it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish and it might come true. Give and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Don't forget to include a shipping address.

1. Please try and come to my 1830s Princess Victoria Dinner in April. The time frame is technically 1820-1840 and I have a deep fear of no one wanting to come...I promise it's going to be the most amazing party I can throw.

2. Add your name to the Christmas card list document in the LJ facebook group, or give it to me in a message. I love sending and receiving cards. I want to send you one as much as I'd love to get one.

3. Candelabras for aforementioned party. I've gone to every homegoods in my area and so far have 5, Adrienne as one and Amanda has 2. Unsure how many you really need, but I want it to be epic. Any decor really, or ideas. How do you make an 1830s party feel extra Victorian and not just like a fancy party in an old hotel.

4. Supplies, Ideas, inspiration for the hostess with the mostess dress. I could wear my plaid ballgown...but if I'm putting all this time into an epic dinner maybe I should have an epic new dress? INSPIRE ME peeps!

5. Send me a message. I've struggled a LOT with being lonely lately. I got really used to chatting with people on FB all the time, and everyone I was chatting with has had life happen. And I'm left feeling lonely and isolated a lot. I'd love some to message me and just shoot the shit.

6. A housekeeper. I feel so overwhelmed by my consistent failures as a housekeeper.

7.Orange silk plaid

8. World peace. I've got serious crisis fatigue from all the kicks to the gut in the last two years. I'm out of emotional reserve.

9. Donate to support mental health. 2018 has been a year of helping my husband get healthy, and I realize how incredibly lucky he is to have a wife who provides him with great health insurance so that we can afford to get him help. I also realize how close I was to losing him, and how hard that is on a spouse. Reach out to the people in your life who seem quiet.

10. historic knitting patterns, supplies. I asked for this last year and was overwhelmed with the wonderful things people gave me. I have a pile of thank you notes I was supposed to write last year...see entry 9, it was a rough year for us.

11. tea. I like black tea. Okay Amanda would point out I don't like super strong black tea. But I drink a lot of Harney's Holiday tea, any holiday tea really as I enjoy the spices. What's your favorite?

2018 was a rough year for us, well I shouldn't say that. It started rough but we're ending on an upswing. Rob even has a full plate of work this week. I'm hoping to go into 2019 with a husband who's healthier than ever, and next step is tackling my own health and wellness.

5. I recently realized that we weren't "friends" of FB, so glad we remedied that! I'm home a lot, so would love to chat whenever. :)

11. I like really mild black teas. My favourite that is easier to get is Taylors of Harrogate Afternoon Tea. I loved the afternoon tea that Selfridge's had when I went there back in 2014, but a friend brought some back a year or two later and it was a different tea, so I don't think they make it any more.

I sent you a couple of my favorite holiday black teas. Just sample sizes because I'm not sure if you will like. A card will come separately.

Now that I think about it, I don’t think I put a name on any of the things I sent out to people.
