ahem. boy it's been a year.

Work was hellish for a while there, we were so short staffed I was working 5 day weeks (I work 12 hour shifts so that's a lot). I got promoted to being the ADON (assistant director of nursing, basically the 2nd highest clinical position at our facility) which while great has also been an interesting transition to being a part of the administrative team.

I have pretty much apparently stopped costuming and I'm fucking sad about it. But everyone is so busy. and without events to sew for I just...don't. I made ONE thing this whole year.

I also failed youtube hard. It's been a whole fucking year since I posted a video. I filmed 2 vlogs which are now way out of date and just never got to the editing. see point number one.

friendships I have had for years exploded and half of it I'm not really even sure WTF HAPPENED!? The other half I feel an odd combination of sad about, relieved about and just meh about.

I REALLY need to get my weight under control Covid hasn't been kind to me, and I don't want to go to a gym, but boy do Rob and I need to get our diets under control.

Ellie was groomed this week and she's SO SOFT and has teddy bear paws.

I miss being creative. I've picked up a long abandoned knitting project that requires ZERO thinking as it's just "knit big rectangle"

I'm going to see Jenny-Rose this weekend and I'm going to chop my hair off. It's currently hip level, but it's very dead and scraggly. I always wanted to have beautiful long hair, turns out I just end up with long hair :-p  one of my goals for 2022 is to embrace the curl. which means shorter.

I should post here more often.

I'm glad you posted here. I miss you!

Knitting has been the only creative thing I've really been able to do. That mindlessness is amazing. As much as I love making things, I need a deadline and a reason. I hope you enjoy your knitting!

Congratulations on the promotion! And for making it through 12 hour days. That's just too much.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend! It sounds very much needed 💗

Congrats on the promotion!

I swear, "I survived 2021" needs to be a merit badge. It's been shitty for just about everyone I know.

Don't beat yourself up too much about costuming and youtube. It's been a hell of a year, and those things didn't vanish, they were just postponed a bit. ~hugs~

Congrats on the big promotion! With work like that a brainless project sounds like a wise choice.
At least posting here is surely easier than putting out a video?

Congrats on the promotion! But whew, that's a LOT of work!

Sewing/costuming in these times is weird and difficult to accomplish. I hope that the knitting is soothing and fun for you!

Freshly groomed dog is the best, the softest, and the fuzziest!

Getting a good haircut sounds lovely. Really long hair is difficult to keep nice looking.

It's nice hearing from you!

BOO YA PROMOTION!

We all of us failed 2021 in one way or another. And we all gained our Covid 19 (and then some). What is working for me is 10 minutes of yoga before lunch, and reducing snacks. I would be miserable if I could not graze at will, but cutting back makes a huge difference. Don't eat a half-pint of ice cream at one sitting, just have a few spoonfuls. Don't eat an entire bag of crisps by yourself, share them with your spouse and close the bag before it's empty. Little things like that add up.

Costuming is REALLY HARD when you have no concrete goals or timeline. You are heard.

It's so good to hear from you. Congratulations on the promotion, and I hope things continue to improve. There are clearly a lot of people who find occasions to wear things a necessary incentive to sewing so you're not alone. I hope you get some new events in the new year.

Then Pandemic has been rough on everyone, but most especially on my friends who work in health care.

Working 60 hour weeks means you essentially have time for work and sleep and NOTHING else (not even things like grocery shopping, cooking, or laundry). So I'm not surprised that you feel like your life has is not going the way you want it to. Is there any chance that your hours will calm down anytime soon? It's hard to have any energy left over for social life or creativity when you're freaking exhausted all the time.
