I actually came home after work and sewed!!! Who'd have guessed. I was trying to be a good girlfriend and stay awake for rob and sewing seemed logical as I'm so stressed by the amount I have to do. I had kinda forgotten how good sewing therapy feels. However I must remember next time I have an imminent deadline perhaps something with stripes is a bad idea because of my ocd. Also someone needs to make me learn that "quick and dirty" should probably happen without period concerns, but hey it's me right? So far tonight I got the darts sewn in (note to self, if you don't want to look like madonna TAPER your darts enough on the points! duh), I got the side backs attatched to the back and 3/4 of the seams hand whipped. I tried a method I read about on you wardrobe unlocked where I folded under the seam allowance on the side back curved side and top stitched it. It creates a "faux pipping" according to the YWU article, but I must say it really gives a nice sharp seam. I'm very pleased with the results. and I promised
curiouschilde pictures but she'll have to wait cause Rob has the camera.
Well I can stay awake no longer, time to put on my pjs and hit the hay. But at least I proved myself wrong and touched my bodice again before monday. If I work on it tomorrow we'll see pigs fly past the window.
