Well we made it safely home from the Parents. Very uneventful drive. Mostly I slept and Rob drove. He's a good man.

I keep waking up thinking I'm late for work, I over slept, my alarm didn't go off..but then there's no where to be.  At least I'm up, and when I finish this I shall shower and force myself to start working on the day.

I order the book [livejournal.com profile] brickhousewench recommended, found it for super cheap on half.com (I like to write in books, libraries always seem to frown on that habit of mine) it was less than $5.00 shipped so I didn't feel bad about the expense.

I'm also sending in a check today for our local harvest festival. It's only $15.00 a space, I did it last year with the upstairs neighbor. I didn't make a ton, but I made some. And heck at this point it's something to keep me busy and bring in a few bucks right?

I never got around to ordering fabric for my 18th century jacket so now I'm not positive what to do. [livejournal.com profile] blackcat452 has offered me some of her gorgeous fabric, but I feel like I'm becoming a fabric mooch!!  I swung through my local Jomar last week and found na-da and I know Joann's hasn't got a thing. I have some wools I could use, but a solid wool on top and a solid wool on the bottom sounds so boring. I know it's perfectly period, but it just sounds bland. I need some pizzaz! I do still have blue taffeta from my aunt that finally arrived, am I nuts to think about making a polonaise gown? yeah I know I'm nuts..someone smack me...

No - you are not nuts :-)
Though I must confess, I have no clue what the weather is like at yours, here I'd go for a wool jacket, and jazz it up with a nice fichu and an apron, a bit in the style of Liotards "Chocolate Girl"?

And have you seen this polonaise? She's definitely nuts, so if you are nuts - you're in very good company.

hmm Oct 1st around here, could be warm and in the 70s (F) or cool and in the 40s (F) one never really knows. I think I'll go look at the chocolate girl again, I think I remember her jacket having a sheen I assumed was silk.

That is a GORGEOUS polonaise. Just perfect.

I also think it's a silk jacket, but I was rather refering to the colour blocks (unpatterned)

Oh yes. Absolutely perfect :-)

A bit unrelated - the "OMG - I overslept!!!!" -thing and the possibility to snuggle up again (though I rarely did) is the only nice thing of being unemployed.

ooh yes it's very true. I have a white apron and fichu but I could certainly whip up a new one of either if I found some a material that was more-sheer. Perhaps it's time to dive back into the stash.

I'm trying to make myself get up at a regular time and get moving on the early side. it's too easy to waste the day, and I'm feeling more than a bit blue so laziness is an every present danger.

Don't feel like a mooch, I'd be happy if it found a home. But if you want a polonaise, I think you could do it in time, most of the work is in the bodice, which you'll have to do for both a jacket or a gown. I can help if you would like. Still want to hang put this weekend?
