I keep seeing gorgeous red 18th century shoes everywhere...

(these can be pre-ordered from the American Duchess SO gorgeous)

And I just can't get the idea of a marvelous 18th century Dorthy out of my head! I'm thinking blue and white stripes instead of gingham, perhaps in a polonaise? Thoughts? Has someone already done it? I feel like someone's already done everything I think I've come up with.

Who wants to be Glinda?

Dude we need everything! Pick any one you want :-) Although you know in the book there are TWO good witches I think.

That's right...I haven't read the book for ages and ages, but I'm remembering now that it was the Witch of the North that first met Dorothy in Oz, and then it was Glinda, the Good Witch of the South that sent her home! Okay, I'm going to go re-read the book so I can be your Literary Source, lol.

And if I can have one of the Good Witches I'll take 'em; if not I'm content with the Witch of the West! This is such a great idea, I'm all excited now! You win. :D Are we going to try to do this for Dress U, or have a later event?

On the one hand, I know there will be a lot of us at Dress U, so that might be a perfect opportunity to wear them together (maybe at the welcome picnic? I think I have plans for every other day, hah). On the other, I think a lot of people already have a bunch of new outfits on the table for Dress U (Titanic evening dresses, for one), and might not have time for another one, or at least another one done well! I say ask around and see what people think.

(Oh, a thought: I still want to have a picnic in a cemetery someday like all the Cool Kids do! Maybe for this? Laurel Hill's site says it welcomes picnics! I know that's a bit more Victorian, but also gorgeous...)

And I remembered I have some black silk taffeta in my stash, so I'm going to go with the WWotW, natch! :D
