We made a dress in a day!


hiraimi, mandie_rw and I made a dress for Amanda in a day. It was actually a really good experience and I'm looking forward to doing it again. Here's the deal we've reached. It's fun to do these team projects, so if anyone else wants to have a dress for them made just come and help on one of the others. It's like a dress co-op. And we'll all take turns making a dress for each other. But there are now ground rules. NO STUPID YARDS OF ROLLED HEMS or you must come with them pre-made :-p

And in other exciting news I have started a blog! Please look it over and tell me what you think :-) I wanted a place to put my finished costumes. And since one one seems to make websites anymore it seemed like the way to go...so far I've got two posts.

thanks! I had nothing to do with the design that's alllll Amanda. As for the fabric it's from jenthompson's curtain along. Curtains from Lowes. They're really perfect for 18th century stuff if you need easy fabric :-)

Yeah, I'd already heard about the curtain-along. Such a cool idea. I'm totally restraining myself from jumping on that idea and running with it because there are at least a half a dozen projects that I need ahead of it in the project queue.

it actually was a lot easier than I thought it would be, but I really do love team projects. I can't stay focused on sewing by myself for that long but when you're just yakkin' away it goes so quickly!

Hello and welcome! We had a major leg up in that Amanda had a really well fitted pattern for her already. Which is why we used her and not Alice or I, but really it was pretty easy all told. We'll definitely be doing it again.
