So this weekend [livejournal.com profile] mandie_rw and I got to go behind the velvet ropes to [livejournal.com profile] sadievale's pumpkin tea and it was AMAZING. The house was gorgeous, the food was delicious, I laughed till I almost hurt myself. I can't help but think how very blessed I am to have found such an amazing group of friends who lift my spirits so.

(stolen from Mandie because it's my favorite)

I took a fair number of pictures and I can't seem to pick many favorites as you're all so amazingly beautiful! so they're all here

My dress looked...plaid and obnoxious but looking at the pictures and at everyone else I will NOT be doing another regency without proper stays. I've got my eyes on the Mantua Maker pattern as I want long stays. Belly control FTW. Also my petticoats accidentally didn't make the trip so I felt very nekkid. *shocked*

So thank you again for everyone for being so welcoming and especially Stephanie and her Mom for being so amazing and throwing such a GREAT party. You are all beautiful and I love you

So instead of cleaning out my sewing room for my Mom's imminent arrival tomorrow I've been wasting massive amounts of time on the internet looking for examples of plaid in regency dresses. Obviously it's not especially common so I'm digging around a lot to find a few examples. But I've totally been bitten. I've compiled a pinterest page of the examples I've found, so if you know of any other examples of early 19th century plaid please let me know!

The awesome [livejournal.com profile] frau_elsebeth found this crazy obnoxious plaid at Jomar. It's not exactly the same colorway but frankly I think it would look better on me anyway. And the point is really that it's crazy loud right?

I'm dreaming about an outfit to wear to the Pumpkin Tea. I know I know I have the very serviceable blue and white regency and really I should make stays before a dress...but I want a fancy dress to feel pretty in!! I just adore the plaid dress above..BUT I don't have the fabric sadly. Realistically I should just try to make a simple spencer..but that's just not sparking my interest. I might make a dress out of a linen with a gold stripe that I have, or I suppose I could dig through the stash and see what's there. If I'm going to make something it needs to be well along by the end of next week. I have a lot of school coming up, plus Gettysburg to make something for...But I want something fun and fluff. Oh fabric Gods why don't I have some absurd plaid?!?! I wouldn't even need that much! I would even make the polka dot hat!
