mandie_rw finally finished school *triumphant noises* and I wanted to celebrate by actually seeing my wifey. So I wrangled the usual suspects plus some new faces to boot! A table for TEN?! TEN PEOPLE WERE DRAGGABLE. *ahem* attendance has been low of late so having friends around made me feel all the happy feels.

The cutest person at the table way by far Jess's adorable kid. Okay so he wasn't into posing for my photo, but he was a perfect gentleman and is there anything better than kids in costume? oh and yes Jess is annoyingly photogenic still.

If that's not the look Alice gives me on a regular basis I don't know what is.

As always the tea was delicious, the company was fantastic and we got many a compliment. I wore my now old hat poinsettia skirt (I was gonna make it just for this then ended up wearing it five times) and decided that I wasn't up for attempting a real vintage hairdo so I plopped my Jennylafleur bangs on my head and pinned all my curls UP and went for an I luv Lucy look...it was sort of successful if looking like I slept on roadkill counts. My hair is just way way way too long to do anything really vintage.

After tea we went for the traditional waltz through the antique store next door. Where as is tradition I walked away with a pile of $5 hats. I looked for candelabras for the Young Victoria Dinner but struck out. I also got some nice vintage lace and a pair of brown gloves.

My one regret is we never got a nice group photo and photos seated at a table are just not that interesting.

We were supposed to go the the reading airshow on Sunday, but the forecast was barely 60 and rainy and frankly a stern look at my bank account really kind of dissuaded me. Hard to feel excited about something when the main draw is shopping and your whole budget would be blown on the entry. So everyone kindly acquiesced to a tea at my local tea house instead.

I woke up on time, and took out the new style of rollers I had tried last night. They were very effective. I looked like weird Al.

And that was really the best my hair looked all day. this whole vintage "brush out your wet set" thing? LIES. BLOODY LIES. I looked like I love Lucy had sex with a sheep, in the rain, and got struck by lightening. Needless to say I was quite grumpy with that and plopped a hat on it. I had PLANNED a headband. OH WELL. I'm gonna say that the brush out is a concept straight haired people who aren't frizz prone can do, and having hair that touches your butt prooooobably doesn't help either. Then I smeared make up on, and was halfway through the "FUCK NUTS WHERE'D I LOSE MY GIRDLE" panic when I realized Amanda needed picking up. Sent Rob off to fetch her from the train and was completely dressed in my FANTASTIC new flamingo skirt and world's least functional rain poncho in time for her to walk in the door looking like a million bucks. It was the perfect illustration of our friendship. really she's quite annoying that way.

Shortly there after while we were admiring my newly collapsed steps Alice pulled in and we waited patiently for Adrienne...who was already at the tea house but we all somehow missed that memo. So just a few min late we tottled off to see if she might there..she was. Luckily I only live ten min away so we didn't leave them hanging tooooo long.

I took exactly one photo at tea to taunt Amanda's boyfriend with. Aren't I on top of things? Meredith and Adrienne were already there so the three of us filled out the gathering. Lots of laughter and delicious food, I do love a tea there. although we've gone so many time it doesn't feel new or exciting anymore. I wish the alternative tea house in Lansdale was open on Sundays as it would be nice to mix it up at least a LITTLE.

After tea we walked to the antique mall next door. We didn't find QUITE as much fantastic stuff as last time, but Alice got a picnic basket and Adrienne got the world's most fun novelty glasses. I stole them shamelessly for a selfie.

I told her if she didn't buy them we couldn't be friends anymore.

Then we said farewell to Meredith who had to drive home and prepare for being an adult today and working her real job and went back to my house for a few outside pictures and sewing day. Look I picked the one where Amanda's eyes are closed as I'm vindictive and I don't have chins in this one.

Word of advice. Don't try to take cute photos with these nut jobs.

We went out for a vintage tea for

mandie_rw 's big 3-0! I had grand plans to make something, I was on track to finish it...but then I got some very unfortunate stomach virus on Friday night into Saturday...so I said screw it and wore an old dress. It was a summer dress so I addd tights and a sweater (the only colors of which I had were black...with a navy dress...shhh don't tell my mom)

I bought Rob a fun skinny tie off Amazon and a nice 40s looking sweater that's arriving tomorrow. *glares* Either way I thought his outfit of clothes pulled from the closet was fairly sharp. I got to wear my new hat and vintage coat so that was fun.

We met Amanda's new boytoy (that's him behind her) he was nice and did stand up remarkably well to my threats of violence if he breaks her heart. He may stay for now...I'M STILL WATCHING YOU TOM. Also fantastic to see

miss_philomena rocking a fab new polka dot dress and her husband Joe came with cake in hand.

The food was delicious as always, although I made it halfway through and my stomach was all "SLOW IT DOWN WITH THE REAL FOOD WOMAN" So I didn't have dessert really, which is my favorite meal of the day.

After tea was over we ~~waddled~~ walked across the parking lot to the little antique mall and did a bit of shopping. I maaaay have a bit of a vintage hat problem developing here...Also fun fact did you know
