a picture of the horror. This is after I took in both seams to try and get some fabric out of there. They're just so damn splayed! Did I sew something on wrong?!? They look like pants just really dumpy pants.

They're getting better...I guess...

Don't give up! It really looks like you're going in the right direction! Breeches are tough, always. I try to remind myself that they were, depending on the pair, supposed to be pants you could ride a horse in, which results in odd fullness in some patterns. All riding breeches today are made of modem stretch fabrics. Even my heavy breeches I wear to horse shows are 10% Lycra. Before they had that, you had to cut a lot more ease into the seat and crotch.
